I actually have never heard about ageism before until today. Eventhough i am not familiar with the term yet i understand its meaning since it is very common in my society.
If i have to share my view, i honestly have no idea since i dont really care about other people’s age. So far, i enjoy interacting with people from all range of ages. HOWEVER, i always feel insecure about my own age, i am afraid and scared of getting older.
Like what John Mayer said in his song “Stop This Train”, getting older means you have to be prepared to see your parents go, since they would not live forever. Getting older also means that i have to let go of my youth, where i was free of so many problems and responsibilities. As i get older, i sometimes kind of feel thet i missed out many things that i did not do when i was young.
Nevertheless, life must go on they said. I can not refuse and i have to follow the river no matter what. The wold is not the one who follows me, i am the one who have to adjust and get used to it. I hope i will happily survive in the end.
